Billing, Refunds & Cancellation Policy
Effective July 21, 2026 · GenieTé is a service of Genie, Inc.
How billing works
GenieTé plans (Free, Starter, Pro, Team) are billed monthly in USD via Stripe, on the anniversary of your purchase date. Each paid period also grants the plan's monthly credits to your shared GenieTé credit balance, which meters usage across all GenieTé services. Prices and included credits are listed on account.geniete.com and on each service's rate card.
- Upgrades take effect immediately. Stripe charges the prorated difference for the remainder of the current period, and the credit difference between the plans is granted immediately.
- Downgrades take effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep everything you paid for; the next renewal bills and grants at the lower plan's rate.
- Credits never expire and are never revoked. Credits already granted remain usable regardless of plan changes or cancellation.
What credits are (and are not)
Credits are an internal usage-metering unit for Genie, Inc.'s own services. They are issued solely by Genie, Inc. and redeemable solely against services Genie, Inc. itself provides (live agent screens, realtime channels, text-to-speech). Credits are not transferable between accounts or persons, have no cash value, cannot be redeemed, exchanged, or withdrawn for money or any third-party goods or services, and are not a gift card, gift certificate, or general-purpose stored-value instrument. They exist only to meter usage of this platform by the account that purchased or received them.
Cancellation
You may cancel any paid plan at any time, self-service, via account.geniete.com → Manage billing (Stripe's billing portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period: your plan and its benefits continue until the date you have already paid through, and no further charges occur. Your account then continues on the Free plan, and your remaining credits stay usable.
Refunds
- Duplicate or erroneous charges (e.g., a billing malfunction or an accidental double subscription) are refunded in full — contact us within 30 days of the charge.
- Partial periods: because cancellation runs your plan to the end of the period you paid for, we do not by default issue partial-period refunds — but we review any request in good faith and issue goodwill refunds where the outcome is unfair to you.
- Prepaid credits are usage units, not stored value; consumed credits are not refundable. Credits granted in error are corrected promptly.
To request a refund, email support@geniete.com with the account email and the charge in question. We respond within 2 business days and resolve accepted refunds within 10 business days (bank posting times vary).
Disputes
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact support@geniete.com first — nearly all billing issues are resolved directly and faster than a card dispute. If we cannot resolve the matter, you retain all rights to dispute the charge with your card issuer.
