Privacy Policy
Effective July 21, 2026 · Applies to genieinc.com and the GenieTé services
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and sign-in identity (managed through AWS Cognito).
- Usage and billing records: metered actions (e.g., events published, characters synthesized), credit ledger entries, plan and invoice history. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
- Service content: the content you submit for processing — screen events, channel messages, text for speech synthesis — stored only as needed to operate the features you use (e.g., a screen's recent history, a speaker's last utterance, hosted audio files with automatic expiry).
- Operational logs: standard technical logs (timestamps, IPs, request metadata) for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
How we use it
To provide and meter the services, bill plans, prevent abuse, provide support, and improve the products. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your service content to train models.
Processors we rely on
- Stripe — payments and subscription billing.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage, and identity (Cognito), in US regions.
- Speech-synthesis providers (currently ElevenLabs) — the text you submit to Voice is transmitted to the provider solely to generate the requested audio.
Retention
Account and billing records are retained as required for accounting and legal compliance. Service content is short-lived by design where possible — e.g., hosted audio links expire automatically within days, and screen history is limited to a recent window. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
Sharing
We share data only with the processors above, or where required by law. Content you explicitly make shareable (viewer links, listen pages, hosted media links) is accessible to whoever holds the link — treat those links accordingly.
